The Computer Engineer, Arthur Zang, presenting Cardio-Pad to Prime Minister.
Cameroonian-born 24-year computer engineer, Arthur Zang, accompanied by Professor Kingue Samuel of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Science of the University of Yaoundé, during a working session chaired by Prime Minister Philemon Yang, presented to some cabinet ministers Cardio-Pad, a device produced to facilitate the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Produced by Arthur Zang, the device is a portable computer to which is hooked to other devices that are able to capture medical information from patients. It can be used to collect medical data on cardiovascular diseases irrespective of the location of the patients and sent to specialist for interpretation. Arthur Zang said it was a source of hope as its use will lead to improvement in treating cardiovascular diseases and will also act scientific support to medical practitioners. For now, only the prototypes have been produced and the Prime Minister reportedly instructed that assistance be given Arthur Zang to support the production of more copies of the device.
