On Friday, May 25, 2018, the 6th Ordinary session of the National Medical, Pharmaceutical and Odontostomatological Commission of Cameroon (NMPOCC) was held at 10:00 in the Conference Room of the Ministry of Higher Education, under the\u00a0chairmanship of the Minister of Higher Education, Chancellor of Academie Orders.
\nCreated by Order N\u00b0.055\/PM of 10 June 2013 by the Prime Minister,\u00a0Head of Government, this Commission is responsible for issuing technical opinions on\u00a0the quality of training of health professionals in public and private academic\u00a0institutions of Cameroon, so as to consolidate academic, technological and professional\u00a0quality in medical training institutions.
\nPresent at the meeting were, the representative of the Minister of Public\u00a0Health who is the Vice-Chairperson to this Commission, a representative of the Prime\u00a0Minister’s Office, the Rector of the University of Yaound\u00e9 l, the Vice-Chancellor of the\u00a0University of Buea, representatives of the partner administrations, the representatives\u00a0of National Medical Councils and the Deans of accredited Public and Private Medical\u00a0Training Establishments.
\nAfter the adoption of the report of the 5th session held on June 09, 2017, and\u00a0the balance sheet of national examinations organized in Septernber and October of\u00a02017, the following recommendations and resolutions, resulting from frank and\u00a0constructive exchanges on points on the agenda were adopted.<\/p>\n

\nln order to allow pharmacy graduates of the University of Dschang to\u00a0operate in all serenity and considering clarifications of the Cameroon Council of\u00a0Pharmacists of (CCP), the Commission took note of the wonderful arrangements made\u00a0by this order, with a view to facilitate the registration of the concerned to this order.
\n2- CHANGE OF HEADS OF ESTABLISHMENT IN PRIVATE HIGHER MEDICAL TRAINING INSSITUTIONS<\/strong>
\nWith a view to enabling accredited private medical training institutions to\u00a0have competent officials, participants recommended that these institutions be informed\u00a0officially that they have to render account systematically to the Chairperson of this\u00a0Commission of any changes at the helm of their Institutions and forward such changes\u00a0to him for opproval.
\n3- FUNCTIONING OF NEWLY CREATED ESTABLISHMENTS<\/strong>
\nThe deans of the two newly created faculties were invited to take all necessary measures to align training within these faculties to the standards required in\u00a0medical training. ln this regard, an inspection mission was recommended by the\u00a0Commission for the purpose of evaluating the quality of medical training in these\u00a0establishments.
\n4- MUTUALIZATION OF HUMAN RESOURCES IN all MEDICAL TRAINING ESTABLISHMENTS<\/strong>
\nln order to curb the teacher deficit which is acute in some schools, the Commission urges all heads of public and private institutions to pool together and\u00a0mutualize the use of their human resources. The commission recommends that Heads of\u00a0Schools create a discussion group amongst themselves so as to operationalize this\u00a0recommendation before the end of the 2017-2018 academic year.
\nFurthermore, commissioners validated the calendar of the national competitive\u00a0medical examinations for the 2018 session as well as the distribution of places by\u00a0training Institution in the National Competitive Common Entrance Examination for\u00a0Medical Training.
\nAt the end of the working session, the Minister of Higher Education, Chancellor\u00a0of Academic Orders, Chairperson of the Commission, congratulated participants for\u00a0their fruitful contributions and urged them to invest more for the optimal implementation of the Commission’s resolutions.
\nThe work of the Commission ended with the gratitude expressed by\u00a0participants to His Excellency Paul BIYA, President of the Republic, Head of State, for\u00a0his very high and constant concern ceaselessly manifested to the entire university\u00a0community recently manifested in the creation of two new medical training\u00a0institutions, namely:
\n– The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University Dschang in Dschang ;
\n– The Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Ngaoundere in Garoua.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
