Towards the densification of the American Cameroonian University Cooperation

The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, received in audience, this afternoon, at the National Digital Supervision Center of the Cameroon Interuniversity Network, H. E. Christopher John Lamora, designated Ambassador of the United States of America to Cameroon.  From the discussions that took place between the two delegations, the following conclusions emerged/
1- American-Cameroonian University cooperation will be intensified in terms of partnerships between Public Universities and Private Institutes of Higher Education (teaching, research, outreach activities).
2- The agreements, which fortunately already exist, between American Universities (Antioch University, Jackson State University, North Carolina University, etc.) and Cameroonian Universities (Buéa, Dschang, Ngaoundéré, Yaoundé I, etc.) will be optimized and diversified. 3- An ad hoc committee was setup, on the spot, for better information to potential Cameroonian candidates for the Fulbright Program, Humphrey Fellowship, Study in the US, Fulbright Teaching Excellence and achievement offers, Fulbright African Research Program scholarships, etc.
4- The ways and means relating to the improvement of academic mobility (students, teachers-researchers) between Cameroonian and American Universities will be explored during the work of the aforementioned ad hoc committee during which, Professer Wilfred Gabsa, Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, shall represent the Ministry.
