Partnership Convention : The Yaounde University Teaching Hospital and Biaka University Institute of Buea Have formalised their collaboration.

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the Conference Room of the Yaounde University Teaching Hospital (CHU) hosted the signing ceremony for the partnership convention between this healthcare institution and Biaka University Institute of Buea (BUIB).

Under the patronage of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, and Chairman of the CHU Board of Directors, the signing ceremony marked the start of a formal collaboration between the two parties, represented respectively by Prof Vincent de Paul NDJIENTCHEU, Director General of CHUY, and Dr Francisca HONGLA BIAKA, Vice-Chancellor of BUIB. More specifically, the aim of this convention is to provide BUIB’s Health Sciences students with practical training during their internship at CHU.
According to Prof Jacques FAME NDONGO, Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, and Board Chair of CHU, ‘this event is a significant milestone in our shared commitment to training healthcare professionals, in keeping with the high prescriptions of His Excellency Paul BIYA, President of the Republic, Head of State, implemented under the effective coordination of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph DION NGUTE’.
Furthermore, this partnership is a golden opportunity, at a time when Cameroon higher education is firmly moving towards Quality-Assurance, Professionalisation and Digitalisation of teaching, and Employability, in the age of artificial intelligence and the globalisation of knowledge.
This ceremony was also the occasion to praise and strengthen the public-private partnership in the development of education and the improvement of healthcare in Cameroon.
