Commonwealth scholarships

The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education announces to the general public and prospective applicants that those who are interested in the United Kingdom (UK) Commonwealth Master’s and Ph.D Scholarships tenable in the UK have some practical conditions which they must meet before applying for these scholarships. Interested applicants are advised to start working on these prerequisites while waiting for the offer to be made public by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in due time. These conditions are:
–  A supporting statement from a named supervisor from at least one of the UK institutions to which they are applying (reserved for Ph.D candidates);
–  Secure admission in a UK University which has a part funding agreement with the CSC. For a list of these universities, visit the CSC website on UK-universities. (suite…)

Towards the densification of the American Cameroonian University Cooperation

The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, received in audience, this afternoon, at the National Digital Supervision Center of the Cameroon Interuniversity Network, H. E. Christopher John Lamora, designated Ambassador of the United States of America to Cameroon.  From the discussions that took place between the two delegations, the following conclusions emerged/
1- American-Cameroonian University cooperation will be intensified in terms of partnerships between Public Universities and Private Institutes of Higher Education (teaching, research, outreach activities).
2- The agreements, which fortunately already exist, between American Universities (Antioch University, Jackson State University, North Carolina University, etc.) and Cameroonian Universities (Buéa, Dschang, Ngaoundéré, Yaoundé I, etc.) will be optimized and diversified. (suite…)

VERS LA DENSIFICATION DE LA COOPERATION UNIVERSITAIRE AMERICANO-CAMEROUNAISE

Le Ministre d’Etat, Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur, a reçu en audience, cet après-midi, au Centre Numérique National de Supervision du Réseau Interuniversitaire du Cameroun, S. E. Christopher John Lamora, Ambassadeur désigné des Etats Unis d’Amérique au Cameroun.
Des échanges qui ont eu lieu entre les deux délégations, il se dégage les conclusions suivantes :

  1. La coopération universitaire américano-camerounaise sera densifiée au niveau des partenariats entre les Institutions Universitaires des deux pays.
  2. Les accords, qui existent déjà fort heureusement, entre des Universités américaines (Antioch University, Jackson State University, North Carolina University etc) et camerounaises (Buéa, Dschang, Ngaoundéré, Yaoundé I etc) seront optimisés et diversifiés.
  3. Un comité ad hoc a été mis sur pied, séance tenante, pour une meilleure information des potentiels candidats camerounais aux bourses Fulbright Foreign Student Program, Humphrey Fellow, Study of the US, Fulbright Teaching Excellence and achievement, Fulbright African Research Program etc.
  4. Les voies et moyens relatifs à l’amélioration de la mobilité académique (étudiants, enseignants-chercheurs) entre les Universités camerounaises et américaines seront explorés lors des travaux du comité ad hoc susvisé au sein duquel le Pr Wilfred Gabsa, Secrétaire Général du Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur, représentera ledit Département.

Le Ministre d’Etat, Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur, Chancelier des Ordres académiques, a le profond regret d’annoncer à la Communauté Universitaire nationale et internationale, le décès du professeur 𝐄𝐌𝐕𝐔𝐃𝐔 𝐖𝐎𝐍𝐎 𝐘𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐞́𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧, Professeur, Inspecteur des Services n°1, à l’Inspection Générale des Services du Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur, décès survenu le samedi 03 septembre 2022 à Yaoundé, des suites de maladie. Au nom de la grande famille de l’Enseignement Supérieur, le Ministre d’Etat, Ministre de l’Enseignement Supérieur, adresse à la famille si durement éprouvée les condoléances les plus attristées de la communauté universitaire nationale, auxquelles il associe l’expression de sa profonde compassion.
